on the half shell

It's officially the first day of summer...although you wouldn't know it by looking outside.
On a much brighter not, my boyfriend & I attended the San Diego Oysterfest last Saturday and we had a lot of fun! There was live music, lots of food, a whole lotta beer, and as many oysters you could gobble up. I must say, these were really big oysters and although they tasted delicious, they were not for the faint of heart. Here's some pics of the event and from driving around downtown San Diego:

It was a great time but all I could think of was The Walrus & The Carpenter from Alice & Wonderland:

The time has come my little friends
To talk of other things
Of shoes and ships and sealing wax
Of cabbagges and kings
And while the sea is boiling hot
And wheather pigs have wings
Kaloo Kalay come run away
With the cabbagges and kings

Remember that?! Poor little oysters didn't stand a chance.
