How was your Holiday?

almost here

Are you as excited as I am for Christmas? It's almost here...

No matter how old I get, I still feel like a giddy little girl waiting for the day to arrive!

christmas came early

A couple of days ago my bf surprised me with these lovely Gucci sunnies that I had been admiring a month or so ago. He said he was really proud that I pulled through the madness of my Etsy site, managed to work my part-time job, and finish the semester strong. I am so lucky and blessed to have such a supportive man in my life! Thanks babe!

This week/weekend has been filled with a crazy amount of holiday parties & get togethers! 

I had a wonderful holiday work lunch and said my goodbyes (pursuing jewelry full-time and finishing school!), and a much needed wine night with some friends I haven't seen in forever.  Here is what I wore last night to a holiday party hosted by my good friend Cassie, of Fit & Fashionable.

Recently the boy & I set out to try one of the restaurants on our "we have to eat there" list. 

Okay, we don't have an actual piece of paper with restaurants written on it...but if we did, this would be on it...

in bold letters, with an appropriate highlighter color. Yea, I'm really OCD like that. 

Bencotto resides in Little Italy and offers an assortment of italian cuisine with the perfect modern twist.

  The food is divine, the service is amazing, and the decor has the perfect industrial edge. 

The whole experience was lovely.

I've been eyeing these Hunter rain boots since last fall but couldn't justify getting them (with San Diego's so-called "fall/winter"). Well, as you can see, I couldn't fight the urge any longer.

When I saw this tutorial at The Beauty Department I wondered why the hell I didn't think of it! I never use the clamp on my curling iron and I am not impressed with the non-clamp curling irons sold in stores. So I took my favorite 1" curling iron and fixed it!

Voilà! The perfect curling iron!

A couple weeks ago the lovely people over at Misikko were kind enough to send me a 

Hana 1.5" Flat Iron (along with a bunch of other goodies). I rarely flat iron my hair,

 so I was anxious to see how this one compared to all of the others I've tried.

I was so surprised at how well this flat iron works! I usually have to go over a section a few times to get it completely straight but this straightened with ease. It left my hair super shiny and smooth. I really recommend getting this flat iron -or adding it to your Christmas list ;) Plus, it is on sale for $132.99 (reg. $214.99)...who doesn't love that?!

I recently did the San Diego Mud Run with my boyfriend and his co-workers.

I definitely wasn't in shape for this but I finished strong...and very dirty.

Christmas will be here faster then we know it. Every year I scramble to find things to put on my list. 

Fortunately, this year I definitely do not have that problem. I have been lusting over everything!

This Halloween was pretty relaxed...I attempted to channel my inner Urkel.

 I opted out of the short skirt, boobs out, kinda costume this year. What did you wear?

Let's face it, with all of our hectic schedules it's nearly impossible to style your hair everyday. That's why I have become bff's with the messy bun and the side pony. The side pony you see above was washed and styled the day before. I did a 1 minute touch up by wrapping large sections of my hair around a curler (no clamp). Then I loosely side parted my hair, secured it with an elastic, and ran my fingers through the curls to break them up. Simple & easy way to look put together in only about 5 minutes!
